The enemy can’t hold me down!
Its been a LOOOONNNNGGG time!!
I went on an amazing holiday to Jamaica back in December last year, i returned January of this year and it seemed like Satan just wanted to turn my world upside down.. 😦
I was meant to have a kitchen fitted whilst i was gone but i came home to an undone and upside down home, also with me being self employed funds where low as i had been away, and to top it off i had a problem with a finger on my hand which the doctors where thinking may be Arthritis!! It was just one thing after the other and at times like this i don’t really like to share, i prefer to withdraw within myself… I hate walking around pretending to smile when inside i’m crying, and theres no way i’m going to walk around with a frown on my face, so i just tend to hibernate away from everyone…
But then when i finally came out of my hole (lol) and attended Church i received an amazing word from God…
The sermon Topic was : When you reach the end of your rope… Reading from 2 Kings 4:1-7..
“1 A certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried out to Elisha, saying, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that your servant feared the Lord. And the creditor is coming to take my two sons to be his slaves.”
2 So Elisha said to her, “What shall I do for you? Tell me, what do you have in the house?” And she said, “Your maidservant has nothing in the house but a jar of oil.”
3 Then he said, “Go, borrow vessels from everywhere, from all your neighbors—empty vessels; do not gather just a few. 4 And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones.”
5 So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. 6 Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, “Bring me another vessel.” And he said to her, “There is not another vessel.” So the oil ceased.
7 Then she came and told the man of God. And he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debt; and you and your sons live on the rest.” (NKJV)
Wow…. This teaching showed me that God can move in unimaginable ways… Even when we think there is no other way to turn God already has it planned out for us! When you trust in God, don’t worry where you fall. No matter where you are he’ll pick you up. When you trust in God he will ALWAYS come through for you. Its always that moment when you are about to give up, that he shows up and shows out!
2 Corinthians 1:3-7
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation also abounds through Christ. 6 Now if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your consolation and salvation.
7 And our hope for you is steadfast, because we know that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you will partake of the consolation”
No matter what you are going through, God is our comforter and will always see us through… Our biggest problem is that we don’t actually trust him enough! We have to trust him in EVERY aspect of life. When you reach the end of your rope, turn to God, but don’t wait until then to turn to him, make sure he is on the rope with you, so he’s always holding you up…
